The medical supervision of pigeon racing traditionally focuses on the healing of sick pigeons. Preventive medicines are also often used. The high infection pressure during races often makes the use of medicines necessary.

The pigeon sport is top sport and a small deviation means that one falls outside the prices. The current regulations make professional medical supervision of pigeon racing more difficult.
This book explains the underlying thoughts regarding the increase in general resistance. The ways are indicated to bring the resistance of the pigeons to a higher level in order to ultimately reduce the (increasing) dependence on medicines.

In the book it is discussed that, in addition to caring for sick animals, one should above all contribute to the health care of the pigeons. Only when the health of the pigeons is optimal, the pigeons can be shaped with supporting means in such a way that the desired performance can be delivered.
