Protovit is a highly digestible, high-quality protein concentrate. Pigeons cover 90% of their energy requirement from their fat reserve and 10% from their protein reserve. This means that pigeons lose muscle during consecutive flights because they use their protein reserves to cover their energy requirements. Pigeons must therefore have very high-quality protein. The muscle building mainly takes place in the resting phase which means that you best administer this protein when the pigeons come home from training or from the race. The oxygen consumption of a pigeon during rest is 5 times higher than in humans and during the flight more than ten times higher. This shows that it is very important for the performance that the fats, carbohydrates, proteins and oxygen are transported to the muscle cells very quickly. The faster this transport happens, the more energy the pigeon can produce per unit of time and the better its racing performance. Administer once a week at the start of the season and administer 2 to 3 times as the flights get heavier.
